What is neoprene?

Neoprene is a synthetic rubber (foamed polychloroprene) that is not only durable but also waterproof, thermally stable, and chemically resistant. 

Neoprene is a versatile material that is suitable for applications that require a general-purpose material. Like with all polymer materials, there are advantages and disadvantages of using neoprene.
