AnnyX SHORT back

Why would I choose an AnnyX Y-harness 'short back' for my dog?
In general the chest strap of an AnnyX Y-harnes is positioned a bit further on your dog's back than Y-harnesses from other brands. This is perfect for most dog breeds, but for some dogs, the chest strap is positioned too far, resting behind the ribcage, which is not ideal.
Which dogs will fit a short-back AnnyX harness?
An AnnyX short-back harness is particularly suitable for dog breeds with a shorter back. These are often stocky dogs. Below are some dogs with a short back:
- French Bulldog
- English Bulldog
- Pug
- Boston Terrier
- Pekinese

- The Y should be on the sternum: the bone you can feel in the front of the dog's chest. In case the dog pulls or lunges, the harness should press on the sternum bone. That way, there is no discomfort or injury to softer parts. If the front ring of the harness is fit too high, enlarge the neck straps by shifting the slip lock buckles down. Not too low, because it will interfere with the dog's natural gait.
- Chest strap should be sitting on the ribs. You should be able to fit two fingers between the harness and the dog's body. This allows for some room when the dog moves. It is also more comfortable. On the other hand, an overly loose harness may also interfere with the dog's movement. To maximize the chest strap length, you may carefully shift the slip lock buckles under the black rubber bands.
- Strap between the front legs should be long enough for unimpeded freedom of movement.
- When the harness is pulled, the chest strap should sit on the last ribs, not on the soft tummy.
- Important: Check each of the above mentioned positions when the harness is pulled to avoid any hampering
