What is a Martingale collar?
Martingale collars are also known as Greyhound Collars or Humane Choke Collars. The Martingale Dog Collar was designed for Sighthounds, because their necks are larger than their head and they can slip out of traditional side release dog collars. For other dog breeds you better choose a half check collar.
Are Martingale collars Easy and Safe to use?
It is very easy to put on and take off a martingale collar and a correctly sized martingale dog collar will prevent the dog backing out of his/hers collar. Our martingale collars keep your greyhound's head from slipping out of the collar when walking or when your dog gets too excited. This Martingale style dog collar is made with two loops. The larger loop slips onto the dog's neck, and a lead is clipped to the ring on the smaller loop. When the dog pulls, the tension on the lead pulls the small loop taut, making the large loop smaller and tighter on the neck to prevent escape.
Your dog's coat and comfort in mind!
4Kyon halfcheck collars are, just like Martingale collars, also great for dogs that have a lot of hair or heavy manes as the collar will lay looser when there is no pressure/lead attached to it. This means there will be less of a "collar mark" left on to the coat.
Our half check dog collars are made from soft and durable polypropylene webbing and soft neoprene padding for comfort around your dog's neck. Reflective piping for night time safety is optional at 4Kyon.
