When choosing a personalised collar for your dog, consider the following:
- What will the collar be used for?
- How does your dog behave on a walk?
- What shape is your dogs head?
A good collar fits well, feels comfortable to wear and distributes the pressure caused by tugging and pulling over a wider area of the dog's neck.
For best fit, measure the neck of your dog.
Fitted correctly, the collar should be snug and not too tight.
Get the right Collar Size
To find the right size, start by measuring the circumference of your dog's neck. Don't stretch the tape measure to the maximum but leave about a finger's worth of space under the measurement tape.
NOTE: For a halfslip or martingale collar measure your dog right behind it's ears, on the smallest part of the neck, to obtain correct sizing.
All our collars are adjustable, about 2cm smaller and up to 6cm larger than the necksize you tell 4Kyon.
Get the right Collar Width
Your choice of collar width is very personal and depending your dog and your preferences. Maybe you prefer a broad dog collar, while another person not. Some dog breeds need a more broad dog collar than others.
Below you will find our guidelines, if you want to deviate from these sizes, please contact us before you order. We will inform you about the possibilities.

Collar materials and features
A dog's collar is usually subject to heavy use. 4Kyon personalised collars are made of high quality, durable materials. We favour weather-resistant neoprene in our collars and leads.
When choosing a customised 4Kyon dog collar, it is also important to consider ergonomics and safety. For example, a half-slip dog collar is suitable for adults and everyday-obedient dogs for training and walking. Make sure that the halfcheck collar is just the right size for your dog and does not choke the dog when tightened. The collar is not for the intention of choking, but to tighten just enough to prevent the dog's head from slipping out. It is therefore suitable for dogs that can walk on a leash without wrenching and are under the control of the owner. Our Duraflex side-release buckles are secure and feature high performance for added safety.
